1 Chronicles 26:1-19

David continues with the preparations by naming the gatekeepers and assigning them to a gate. The gatekeepers were responsible for guarding the temple and preventing unlawful entry. They also took up the collections, assisted with some of the religions duties as well as purification rights. The East Gate was known as the 'king's gate' and more were assigned there because of the greater responsibilities.

1 Chronicles 26:20-32

There were two treasuries to be manned. One was the temple treasures and the other were the dedicated gifts. Others were appointed as officials and judges; these men had religious and administrative duties. They served outside the temple in service to God and the king.
